I have asked for the Face Book site to be suspended whilst we look at ways of ensuring that all young people who benefit from the site are able to do so in a safe way. I am sure that you are increasingly aware that some adults use social networking sites to contact young people for the wrong reasons. Please remember to stay safe online and to report anything that you are concerned about.

About the festival
The Young Carers Festival is an anual event. It takes place at the end of June every year and caters for just 2000 of the UK's 175,000 (cencus information) young carers. It is a special weekend where each of these amazing young people can forget their adult responsibilities back home and spend time with peers, make new friends and share stories. the weekend is FULL of activities, from sporting, rock climbing, crafts, discos, bands on the festival stage and a massive outdoor party. Donate a prize
We are always looking for prizes to give away on YCFM, the official radio station of the YCF. Each year, we broadcast as the voice of YCF on FM across South Hampshire and online around the world. In the past, we have been given mountain bikes, ipods and laptops away, thanks to the generosity of local and national busineses including Currys, PC World, Dancor and many others. If you would like to donate a prize or money to purchase a prize, we would love to hear from you. Click contact to get in touch.

Attending the festival
If you would like to attend YCF 2012, its really easy. First, all applications must come from your group leader or care-group representative. If you are not a member of a young carers group, please still get in touch as there may be a project we can put you in touch with. If you would like an application pack sent out, drop us an email and we will prepare one for you. Remember, places are limited so you need to book as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.
